Furniture Ministry

Assist us in a vital role for Love INC with donation pickup, furniture delivery to participants and keeping the warehouse organized with a constant flow of “stuff!” This ministry allows us to spend time and learn the stories of our donors, participants and volunteers!

Rise Furniture Ministry
Rise is a sustainable social enterprise that offers the public beautiful restored, used and sometimes new furniture and decor through donations of local community members. Rise is a social enterprise with a ministry focus. We begin with receiving the gracious donations of others, we assess whether they will be delegated to the showroom for reworking and retail or set aside to be used for participant needs. All pieces that are on the showroom floor were the product of volunteer and participant efforts. When a participant works in our shop they have the opportunity to earn items from our stock of participant furniture. Our showroom pieces are available for purchase by the general public. We use all resources and revenue to support and grow the ministry work of Love INC.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Saturday Volunteers run our sales floor and showroom. These volunteers will be able to run a point of sale, have a warm and energetic disposition, and love to talk with people and be part of a team
  • Shop Volunteers work behind the scenes as finishers or carpenters in completing the projects that are being designed and delegated by Rise leadership and staging teams. These volunteers should have experience in their trades and/or hobby with some experience in painting, restoring, sanding and using wood working equipment.
  • Ministry Volunteers work side-by-side our participants and will be leading them through the projects and encouraging them as they work. In addition they will need to be comfortable leading a devotion and prayer time.

Thrive Youth TRAK Ministry 

Thrive Youth TRAK Ministry is a hands-on, faith-based life skills and employment program for youth ages 14-17 set in an outdoor adventure retail environment. Participants learn employer expectations by working alongside adult mentors in a retail store in a seamless, mastery-driven environment. Skills development includes receiving, sorting, reconditioning, repairing, pricing, marketing, merchandising, online sales, floor sales, customer service, back office, cash register, janitorial, scheduling, and other general work skills.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work with youth and pass a background check
  • Some knowledge of bike mechanics and/or willingness to learn and mentor
  • Energetic and genuine approach to working with youth/teen demographics and bringing encouragement and leading by example.

Admin and Front Desk
Do you love meeting new people on a regular basis? Then our Front Desk check-in might be a great place for you to get involved with Love INC! We are always looking for friendly people who can greet our guests as they come in the door, direct them to the correct department and help our administrative staff by answering the phone.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong administrative skill sets including computer related experience, database software and organization.
  • Friendly, upbeat and personable in a variety of roles including front desk.
  • Willingness to learn the Love INC mission and express the purpose and values in daily conversations and encounters.

Clothe A Kid

Clothe-A-Kid Since 2003, Clothe-A-Kid for School has helped around 13,000 Black Hills children with new school clothes. In 2022, we will be taking every child shopping. The funds to purchase each child’s clothes are provided by sponsors from a variety of area churches. We always need volunteers to help sign up our families (first week of June) and even more help with shopping volunteers who shop, encourage and pray with the families on our shopping days in August.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and able to pass a background check
  • Servant heart ready to help families and children participate in the program
  • Smiling and energetic approach to ministry and meeting new people

Life INC

Life INC is the transformational ministry of Love INC. We offer a variety of adult education classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights throughout the year that are taught by volunteers and hosted by local churches. Class topics address the material and spiritual well-being of all participants and frequently include topics such as finances, parenting, Christianity, nutrition & cooking, dealing with trauma, and whole-life mentoring. A meal, children’s ministry, and transportation are provided to remove all barriers to attendance. Hundreds of individuals and families have benefited from this life-changing ministry!

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Faithful attendance at a local church
  • Willingness to develop friendships with people from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and church backgrounds
  • Completion of Life INC Teacher/Mentor training the quarter prior (teachers and mentors only)

Warehouse Ministry

The warehouse volunteers assist in a vital role for Love INC by picking up and receiving donations, delivering participant furniture, and keeping the warehouse in a state of organization and flow! This ministry allows us to spend time and learn the stories of our donors, participants and volunteers! It really allows for the impossible, to become possible whether it is moving items from an estate, helping someone without a vehicle to have items brought to their residence or stewarding the gifts of people who have a heart for our ministries.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and carry large items
  • Use of equipment and/or moving vehicles
  • A heart of ministry and the ability to offer prayer for those we are assisting

  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Ease of conversation and comfortable talking on the phone
  • A heart for ministry and prayer with those in need

Gap Ministries include all ministries which operate under the Love INC Connection Center including a Linen Ministry, Kitchen Ministry and Foster Care Supply Closet. These ministries and volunteers are sponsored and managed by a local church partner.
